Luxury Accommodation - Kangaroo Valley and Restaurants South Coast

Where can we eat in Kangaroo Valley?

You can cook and dine at Kookaburra Hill or explore the surrounding restaurants in the village and walk home under the stars after that bottle of wine or two ... and there really are stars here on a clear night.

Kookaburra Hill Bed and Breakfast is a stone's throw to Kangaroo Valley village, just a 500-metre flat walk from the front gate. Within this short stroll there are 9 cafes or restaurants, 2 art galleries, several antique or craft shops, a children's playground, a small supermarket, a post office, a newsagent and a pub with a bistro and a bottle shop. Additional restaurants, galleries and shops are a short and easy drive away.

There are a number of vineyards nearby, some with dining options as well as cellar door. Yarrawa Estate is a boutique vineyard in Kangaroo Valley a short drive away with wine tasting by appointment. There are several art galleries in the valley worth a visit, including JD Galleries, Galeria Aniela and others.

You can also drive to other restaurants a litlße further on. Berry or Bowral offer a range of restaurants and take-aways as good and varied as that of larger cities. Other scenic villages with excellent cafes and restaurants nearby include Burrawang and Robertson as well as the many beachside venues surrounding Nowra and Gerringong.

What is there to do in Kangaroo Valley?

There is so much to do in scenic Kangaroo Valley, including bush walking or enjoying the wonderful galleries and shops. Other favourite activities are visiting the many antique and craft shops and vineyards in the region.

Horse riding, tennis and Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country Resort are available nearby. The canoe trips on the Kangaroo River are extremely popular with all ages and mountain bikes can also be hired or fishing trips organised.

The Pioneer Farm Museum is well worth a visit. The Berry markets are on the first Saturday of the month and are always worth visiting also.

Or you can simply let the surroundings relax you, take in the fresh air, go slow and do very little. The magic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys seem to encourage you to go slow. It is a very healing place.

If you are feeling more energetic, you can go hiking in National Parks as the valley is surrounded by the beautiful mountains and escarpments, including Morton National Park.

Smoking is only permitted in outdoor areas for the comfort of other guests.
