From the moment you come up the 200m tree-lined driveway, you are surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flowers and fruit bearing trees. 

 

There are 2 acres of lawn in front of the house with a small stream, benches to have a rest on and plenty of room to wander around and explore. 

 

Behind the house, there is an outdoor kitchen and dining area and a solar-heated salt-water pool that is suitable for swimming between October and April (those who are happy to brave the cold can have a dip during winter).  We added an awesome firepit that guests have enjoyed gathering around to roast marshmallows and check out the stars.  In addition, there is a level grass terrace with stunning views to Wedding Cake Mountain.  It’s perfect for a variety of sports.  In the back of the property there is bushland with occasional visits from wallabies, echidnas, wombats and other creatures.  We loved having sundowners up at the back of the property so much that we built a deck just for this purpose!

Kookaburra Hill has been included in the Open Garden Scheme.  It has been home to keen gardeners and over the years, and in addition to a variety of roses, we currently have the following fruit growing on the property:

Lemons, Limes (Kaffir, Finger and Tahitian), Passionfruit, Blackberries, Figs, Oranges (Mandarins and Blood), Persimmon, Rhubarb and Cherry Tomatoes.

Guests are welcome to pick in season produce during their stay.
